Gretchen Buchanan, PhD, is an NIMH T32 Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for Mental Health Services Research in the Brown School at Washington University in Saint Louis. She is Co-investigator on a two-year pilot study funded through the Washington University Implementation Science Center for Cancer Control, “Let’s start with what we know: A mixed methods assessment of practice-based implementation strategies for addressing behavioral health in primary care.” She is interested in improving access to high-quality behavioral health services through integration in primary care, with a particular focus on mental health equity.
She received her PhD at the University of Minnesota while studying the implementation of integrated behavioral healthcare, parent-child relationships, and preventive parenting programs. She also has a clinical MA from the University of Nevada, Reno and BA from the University of Portland, and is a licensed marriage and family therapist and licensed alcohol and drug counselor.
